Child Development Institute

CDI strives to be a complete resource for parents — offering training, education, and innovative, comprehensive intervention programs to meet the needs of the parents and families in the community that we serve. In order to ensure that we are meeting these needs we would like to invite parents to become more involved in not only the programs and services we provide here at CDI, but also a chance to create/connect to a network of parents, professionals, and resources in the community.

Our education series is held monthly at CDI and consists of speakers and presentations in areas such as advocacy, parenting, healthy eating and many others. We will be hosting each of these workshops either in the evening or on the weekends with child care provided for your children by our interns and interventionists.

The Kresco Family Resource Room (KFRR) is dedicated in honor of Steven Kresco and his family who, over the years have volunteered many hours to help CDI meet its mission. The Kresco Family also has a child with special needs and understands the stress that other families at CDI are under. The KFRR is a quiet space for parents to research and get work done, meet with other parents, or read; a kind of "Parent Time Out" space. We realize that it can be difficult to carve out some quiet time for yourself during the day, and we hope that this space can offer that opportunity to you.

We could all use the help, support and encouragement from other parents going through the same things as you do. You don't have to be alone in this. CDI MOMS group is here for parents whose children attend or attended CDI and receive therapies now or in the past. It's a safe place to talk and support each other through good and rough times. It seems most of the time we find ourselves running from place to place just trying to keep up with our sanity. We hope you'll be able to support your friends and make new ones! We’d like to use this venue to exchange ideas, thoughts, plan play dates for the children as well as us parents, talk about therapies, what's new in interventions, exchange GFCF recipes, have fun, vent and especially laugh.... the list goes on and on...
