Intern/Trainee
Position Summary:

Under the direction of program supervisors, the Intern/Trainee acts as lead therapist on assigned cases and is the main source of information in collaboration with parents, teachers and the CDI interdisciplinary team. Intern/Trainees deliver mental health services to children and families and are responsible for all case management of assigned cases. Case management includes treatment planning, goal and report writing, charting and managing client hours including make up hours as necessary. Areas of service may include in-home, in-school or in-agency locations throughout the San Fernando Valley. Interns/Trainees in this program will emerge with an understanding of CDI’s unique and effective way of working with a range of developmental challenges using a Developmental, Individual-Difference, Relationship-Based Model (DIR).

Education/Training:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in early childhood health or education related field, early childhood teaching credential, therapy licensure or certification
- Current enrollment in graduate program or working toward licensure
- Qualified candidates will receive comprehensive training in the CDI approach

Experience:
- Two years experience in early childhood services, including work with typical infants, toddlers, and those with developmental delays; preference to those with early intervention or floor time experience
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a family centered, collaborative way with parents and professionals
- Computer literacy

Hours:
- Maintain a minimum of 12 client hours as week (flexible morning and afternoon hours)
- Participate in staff meetings, in-service trainings and weekly group supervision. Friday 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. is mandatory.
- One (1) hour of individual supervision (flexible)
- Case Management (as required)

Interventionist
Position Summary:

Under the direction of program supervisors, the Interventionist is responsible for providing direct service to young children in their natural environment. Areas of service include in-home, in-school or in-agency locations throughout the San Fernando Valley. Interventionists work with a variety of children with a range of developmental challenges. Using the Floor Time Model (DIR), Interventionists work with children to expand their capacity to express feelings, emotions and ideas creatively and logically as well as provide behavioral support in the classroom.

Education/Training:
- AA/AS or higher in child development, psychology, early childhood education, special education or other related health or human service field. BA/BS preferred
- Qualified candidates will receive comprehensive paid training and on-going mentoring from supervisors

Experience:
- Two years experience in early childhood services, including work with typical infants, toddlers, and those with developmental delays

- Maintain a minimum of 15 client hours a week (flexible morning and afternoon hours)

Speech Therapist
