Safe, secure interactions, based in routine and in play, encourage children to engage with others and the world around them. Recent studies in brain research demonstrate that early positive relationships and experiences play a major role in nurturing healthy brain development. CDI provides families and other caregivers with guidance in building consistent and responsive relationships and creating natural and healthy environments.
Because every child is at a different stage of development, CDI uses a Developmental, Individual-Difference, Relationship- Based Model, (DIR) that helps parents and CDI professionals create individual treatment plans. Parents, extended families and caregivers are an integral part of CDI’s approach and are included in every part of a child’s therapy.
CDI offers a unique and effective way to understand and work with children with a range of developmental challenges. It focuses on helping a child learn the building blocks of relating, communicating and thinking, rather than on disabilities or symptoms alone.
